Scottish Resources Group describes itself as a 'modern, world-class producer of coal and renewable energy products' and a 'forward-thinking, responsible' energy group. Its traditional expertise is in coal extraction from surface mines and transportation to the nation's power generators. It also has 'considerable experience' in the regeneration of formerly mined land and promotes new technologies such as clean coal and carbon capture.[1]

Regeneration of mining sites

Our regeneration programmes concentrate on transforming former surface mining sites into land with beneficial after uses such as renewable energy developments like wind-farms. [1]
SRG Estates is the owner of significant strategic land amounting to some 25,000 acres across the central belt of Scotland. A number of these landholdings are set to become substantial development projects. By actively managing the land owned by the Group, SRG Estates is able to support the Group's aim of delivering maximum value from the land before, during and after mining, as well as providing long-term land solutions that local communities look for.[2]
