The New York-based Achelis and Bodman Foundation was created by a merger in November 2015 of the Bodman Foundation (established in 1945) and The Achelis Foundation (established 1940).

Achelis and Bodman grantees since 2016 have included the British think tank Henry Jackson Society: Project for Democratic Geopolitics‎, who it gave £80,000 for general operating support under its public policy programme. [1]

The Bodman Foundation was a key funder of the anti-Islam Middle East Forum between 2000-2009, donating a total of $177,000. [2]

Bodman also gave Friends of the European Foundation for Democracy US$50,000 in 2012.
