Sir Stephen Wright is a senior adviser for G3 Good Governance Group and Mitsui & Co. Europe PLC and a former diplomat at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

Career

Wright was a diplomat for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office between 1968 and 2007, notably holding positions as counsellor in India, 1988-1991, assistant under-secretary (European integration and European Union), 1994-1997, USA minister, 1997-1999, director of wider Europe, deputy under-secretary (defence/intelligence) and ambassador of Madrid.[1][2][3]

After leaving the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, in January 2008 he was appointed CEO of International Financial Services London, until June 2010. His appointed was noted by ACOBA who "saw no difficulty" with the appointment.[3] In June 2010 he was appointed senior adviser to TheCityUK, until June 2011.[1]

He is currently senior adviser with G3 Good Governance Group, a role he has held since January 2008 and a senior adviser with Mitsui & Co. Europe PLC since April 2010.[1]
