Tony Cooper is a member of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and a former chairman of the Nuclear Industry Association. Described as a ‘former senior Trades Union Official with nuclear industry connections’, he was appointed to the NIA in July 2002. [1]

He is also a member of the Department of Trade and Industry’s Energy Advisory Panel, a ministerial appointment for which he receives remuneration of £1,000 a year. [2] [3]

He is the father of Housing and Planning Minister Yvette Cooper and the father-in-law of key Treasury advisor and MP Ed Balls.
