Teaching About Terrorism is a 2009/10 research project funded by C-SAP, one of the Higher Education Academy's subject networks. The project aims to research the extent and nature of teaching about terrorism in UK Universities, primarily in the disciplines of Sociology, Politics and Criminology[1].

The University does not hold any such information.

The University does not have any review process which looks at suchinformation and materials from the perspective mentioned.

Does your institution have any system, policy or procedure in place for dealing withany potential actions taken by the authorities against the institution, its students or staff under Terrorism legislation?

The University does not have any system, policy or procedure in placefor dealing with any potential actions taken by the authorities against the institution, its students or staff under Terrorism legislation as the legislation relating to Terrorism would take precedency.

Does your institution have any system, policy or procedure in place for 'preventingviolent extremism' as recommended for example in the government guidance documentµPromoting Good Campus Relations?

The University received the guidance document and a number of actionshave been taken as a result. The University has formed a very strong partnership with South Yorkshire Police that enables early interventionin respect of safeguarding against and preventing extremism. The partnership follows the guidance document cited in Q4 to address effectively concerns surrounding emerging instances of extremism toenhance excellent campus relations and community safety.<ref>University of Sheffield, Response to FOI 1, Scribd, Accessed 04-April-2011
