He was appointed President of the [[Federal Association of German Banks]] between March 1997 and March 2000. No longer CEO, he was appointed on to the Supervisory Board of [[Commerzbank]] AG May 2001 and was there until he resigned in May 2008.<ref name="MP"/>

Martin Kohlhaussen (6 November 1935) is a former CEO and Chairman of the Board of Commerzbank and a former director of Hakluyt's international advisory board The Holdingham Group Advisory Board.

Career

Having studied law at university, Kohlhaussen practiced law between 1960 and 1965, before joining Deutsche Bank. In 1974 he because Branch Manager of the German branch of LLoyds Bank International, he then became Branch line in Tokyo and New York for the Westdeutsche Landsebank in Dusseldorf.[1]

In 1982, he became a Member of the Management Board of Commerzbank AG, before becoming CEO of the bank between May 1991 and May 2001. He was appointed President of the Federal Association of German Banks between March 1997 and March 2000. No longer CEO, he was appointed on to the Supervisory Board of Commerzbank AG May 2001 and was there until he resigned in May 2008.[1]

Between 21 October 2002 and 5 June 2009, he was on the advisory board of The Holdingham Group Limited.

In 2004, he was appointed Chairman of the board of Hochtief AG but resigned from this role in March 2010.[1]

Education
