Jim Swift is a Conservative Party Councillor for Newton Mearns South[1], on East Renfrewshire Council near Glasgow, a position he has held since 2007.

He was appointed a director of the Health Inequalities Alliance on 31 March 2010 along with fellow director and lobbyist Jacquie Forde. As of February the Alliance is being wound down with a proposal to strike off at Companies House.
