Jean-Louis Bruguière is a former French judge and a conservative politician. His claims were widely used by Israel lobbyists after the Gaza Freedom Flotilla massacre to allege that the Turkish IHH, nine of whose activists were murdered by Israeli forces, had links to terrorism. Bruguière has backed the Italian right's claims about the discredited Bulgarian Connection, the claim that the assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II by a rightwing Turkish nationalist was orchestrated by the KGB.
