The Health Inequalities Alliance (HIA) (SC375969) is a not for profit company set up by pharma lobbyist Jacquie Forde, Conservative Councillor Jim Swift[2] and Miranda King. Swift was appointed director on 31 March 2010 though Jim Swift states on his LinkedIn profile that he joined the Alliance in June 2011.[3] Miranda King was appointed secretary on 31 March 2010[4] and registered the domain name for the Health Inequalities Alliance website.[5] King was also appointed secretary for Quorum Sensing Ltd on 30 April 2010, resigning on 20 September 2011.[6]

The Alliance sponsored two Cross Party Groups in the Scottish Parliament. Indeed on their website which was briefly live in 2012 the Alliance claimed that 'The Health Inequalities Alliance have successfully campaigned for a cross party group to be established on Health Inequalities in the Scottish Parliament'.[7]

Forde 'parted ways with her business partner (another story)'[8] and left the Alliance in December 2012 after becoming director of its successor the Wellbeing Alliance and director of the lobby firm Quorate Public Affairs both of which are based at the same address as the Health Inequalities Alliance at 11-12 Newton Terrace, Glasgow.[9]

The HIA is listed as 'Active – Proposal to strike off' at Companies House in February 2014.[9]
