Derek Scott was an economic adviser to the Labour Party from 1997 to 2003.[1]

Background

A former Social Democratic Party (SDP) adviser - and candidate in 1983[2] - Scott worked as special adviser to Labour Chancellor Denis Healey in the 1970s. Scott is a Liverpool University graduate with postgraduate degrees from LSE and Birkbeck.[3]

With experience of working as a banker with Barclays de Zoete Wedd (BZW) before 1997, Scott went to be an Economic Adviser at the global professional services firm KPMG after 2003. He now works with macroeconomic forecasting consultancy Lombard Street Research.[4]

Scott is the ex-husband of Channel 4 Political Editor Elinor Goodman.[5]
