Declan McHugh is a former UK government special adviser and Labour Party strategist, who now works at a lobbying firm.

McHugh currently works at Lexington Communications, a PR and lobbying company based in London, providing 'political insight and strategic advice' to clients across several sectors.

Before joining Lexington, McHugh was director of strategic planning for the Labour Party. Between 2006 and 2010 he was special adviser to Jack Straw in the Ministry of Justice, providing advice on issues across the legal, constitutional and justice sector. [1]

He has also previously worked as a political adviser to Harriet Harman, Sadiq Khan and Charles Falconer. [1]
