Colin Sutton is a former detective who investigated two deaths of young military recruits at the controversial Deepcut Army Barracks between 1995 and 2002.

In March 2014 Sutton gave an interview to British ITV News in which he claimed that he was "pressured from above" to record the Deepcut deaths as suicides.

Sutton said that he felt "extremely uneasy" about the pressure he was put under, and "with the concept that there had almost been a pre-judgement on this" that these deaths had been suicide. He said that the Surrey police force was caught between the "tension" of wanting to be supportive to the Army, and to the families.

"As an investigator i wanted to investigate it properly, and come to whatever conclusion the evidence led us to."[1]
