Julia Cleverdon: appointed as Chief Executive of Business in the Community in 1992: started her career working in industrial relations for British Leyland, married to the late John Garnett, director of the Industrial Society. Her voluntary roles include being a director of In Kind Direct, Governor of Henley Management College, Trustee of Timebank (in the mezzanine office along with Demos and a whole host of other New-Labour connected groups), patron of the Helena Kennedy Bursary Scheme, patron of Volunteer Reading Help and an Ambassador for the World Wildlife Fund. Formed Project Head Start (for school-leavers in the innner city [1].
