Sir Peter Torry is a former Diplomat with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office who has since moved to the private sector, holding roles as an adviser and on advisory boards at many companies.

Career

Torry was a Diplomat working for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. He has help posts including head of personnel operations department, 1993-1995[1], assistant under-secretary and deputy chief clerk/deputy chief of administration, 1995-1998[1], ambassador to Spain[2] and ambassador to Germany.[3] He left the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 2007.

In December 2007 Peter Torry Consultancy Limited was registered as a Private Limited Company. The only two staff registered are Torry and his wife Lady Angela Torry.[4]

In April 2008 he was appointed as a member of the advisory board at Lloyds Pharmacy Ltd, an adviser to Centrica plc and an adviser to Anschutz Investment Ltd. The roles were approved by ACOBA "subject to the conditions that, for six months from his last day in post, he should not revisit Germany for business purposes, advise on it, or have dealings with companies there".[5]
