  • Special adviser to the Chairman of the Midi-Pyrénées Regional Tourism Committee (1982-1983).
  • Deputy Secretary-General then Secretary-General to the Midi-Pyrénées Regional Tourism Committee (1983-1986).
  • Parliamentary assistant to Lionel Jospin, Member of the National Assembly for Haute-Garonne and First Secretary of the Socialist Party (1986-1988).
  • Special adviser in the office of the Minister of State, Minister for National Education, Higher Education, Research and Sport (1988-1992).
