Yves Roucaute' is a professor of political science at the University of Paris X- Nanterre. An ex-leftist, he is a a philosopher essayist and former journalist.

Yves Roucaute's 2005 book Neoconservatisme is a Humanism.

He is President of the Free Europe Institute, and a Fellow at the Brussels based Atlantis Institute.[1] He is the former vice-president of the National Union of the Students of France (UNEF), the Union of the Communist Students (UEC), and the former president of the Antonio Gramsci Institute.

In 2012 he was listed as a Board member of the Paris based Jean-Jacques Rousseau Institute.[2]

Roucaute is author of Le néoconservatisme est un humanisme (2005), La puissance de la liberté (2004), La République contre la démocratie (1996), and several other publications.
