Stanley Orme, Lord Orme of Salford (1923-2005), was a Labour poltiician.[1]

Northern Ireland Office

Orme served as a Minister of State in the Northern Ireland Office from 7 March 1974 to 8 April 1976.[2]

Unionists criticised his appointment because he had previously said he supported a united Ireland. There was further friction when he criticised the Ulster Workers Council strike of May 1974.[3]
