Carlo Casini, MEP

Carlo Casini (born 04 March 1935, Firenze) is an MEP from the Italian Union of Christian and Centre Democrats since 08.05.2006. Formerly he served for the parliament representing Democrazia Cristiana, DC for two terms (24.07.1984-18.07.1994) and representing Partito Popolare Italiano, PPI, the successor to the former, for one term (19.07.1994-19.07.1999).[1]

  • Pretore (Magistrate) for the Empoli District (Florence, 1963).
  • Deputy State Prosecutor (Florence, 1966).
  • Judge of the Court of Cassation (1999).
  • Member of the Chamber of Deputies (8th, 9th, 10th and 11th parliamentary terms - 1979-1994). Rapporteur on code of criminal procedure, adoption, drugs and terrorism.
