The Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry is the representative body for the Luxembourg investment fund industry.

It says:

Its close contacts to the regulatory authority, the government and the legislative body allow ALFI to contribute to shaping regulation by bringing valuable input when there is need to adapt the regulatory framework, adopt a new European Directive or create a specific regulatory framework for new products or services.
Since the scope of action for national legislators is becoming more and more determined at a European level, ALFI has intensified its contact with the authorities at an EU level.
ALFI is actively promoting the Luxembourg investment fund center, its products and services by representing the fund sector in economic missions organised by the Luxembourg government or the Chamber of Commerce around the world, by organising road shows and financial seminars in cities where fund industry decision makers are based, and by taking active part in the principal meetings of the global fund industry.[1]

Representation in the European Commission

Georges Bock, managing partner of KPMG Luxembourg, and Gérard Laures, partner at KPMG Luxembourg, represent the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry on the European Commission's Expert Group on automatic exchange of financial account information. The aim of the group is to assist the EU member states on tax laws and collecting the full amount of tax owed to them.[2]
