Background

In the latter part of 2006, Meda announced completion its acquisition of the pharmaceutical division of 3M in Europe. [1]

At the same time, 3M announced that it had agreed to sell its pharmaceutical operations in the United States, Canada, and Latin America region to Graceway Pharmaceuticals Inc. at a cost of $875million. 3M's pharmaceutical operations in the Asia Pacific region (including Australia and South Africa) were also sold to Ironbridge Capital and Archer Capital. In 2008, 3M is listed as a client of Innovex[3] and a past or current client of German PR company FischerAppelt Kommunikation[4]

They are a client of lobbying firm Keene Public Affairs Consultants[5] and a former client of Fleishman-Hillard.[6]

The PRCA lobbying register lists 3M as a current client of Cohn and Wolfe Ltd. [7]

Affiliations

3M Pharmaceuticals is listed as a member of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PHRMA) in 2005[8] and 2006 [9].3M is also listed as a member of the American Benefits Council[10]
